Respite

 

Respite is provided to individuals on the Family Support (FS) and Community Integration and Habilitation (CIH) waivers who are unable to care for themselves and are intended to be used on a short-term basis because of the absence or need for relief of people who normally provide care for the person receiving services. Respite can be provided in multiple settings. 

Who this service is appropriate for

People on the FS and CIH waiver needing assistance with daily living skills and those need and wanting access to the community and community activities. 

What are the benefits of the service

The individual receives care, support, and assistance while the main caregiver can receive a break from the typical schedule.
