What We Do
Our Mission
The mission of Community Ventures in Living (CVL) is to assist and support persons who are developmentally disabled and their families to establish and/or maintain homes that are truly their own.
The services of the agency are founded on the belief that every individual has the right to live as a valued and accepted member of the community. Recognizing that from time to time every individual need support, we strive for individuals who have disabilities and their families to live as independently as is appropriate and to create an environment where dignity, a positive social role, inclusion into the community, self-direction, and a feeling of self-worth are enhanced through supporting individual strengths, relationships and the acquisition of life skills.
What We Believe
Community Ventures in Living believes that every person deserves opportunities for belonging, connection, purpose, and self-direction within their community. We recognize that meaningful lives are built through relationships, valued social roles, personal choice, and experiences that reflect what matters most to each individual.
Rather than using a one size fits all approach, we work alongside each person and their support network to identify goals, strengthen independence, build relationships, and create opportunities for community involvement and growth.
Our Approach
Respect for the individual is at the center of the work we do. Every person has a story, strengths, preferences, and goals unique to them. We strive to understand each person deeply and provide supports that honor dignity, individuality, rights, and personal outcomes.
CVL celebrates the evolving hopes and goals of each person supported. Through individualized and person-centered supports, we help people build lives rooted in independence, inclusion, meaningful relationships, and community connection. We believe communities are stronger when every person has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and belong.
